It’s been more than a week since the terrorist attack took place at Pulse night club in Orlando, Fla., where more than 50 people lost their lives. The city of Orlando is still reeling from the tragedy, as is the rest of the country, but the city has shown strength beyond measure as they move forward to heal.
In a benefit concert held Tuesday night (June 21) called Country Strong: Orlando’s Night of Healing and Country Music, many country stars came out to show their support. Country artists included Parmalee, Michael Ray, Cole Swindell, Billy Currington, Canaan Smith, Jerrod Niemann, Tyler Farr, Easton Corbin and Maddie and Tae.
During the evening, Maddie and Tae took the stage and dedicated their song “After The Storm Blows Through,” to the city of Orlando. “We feel for y’all and we have been sending so many prayers to you guys with all this craziness going on,” Maddie said from the stage. “I have to say, with tragedy, I feel like music really heals. That’s why we are here tonight, to be together. I am so proud to be in a country where we all come together in tragedy. So thank you so much for being so strong. We wrote this song for times just like these. Orlando this is for you.”
