Kelsea Ballerini Talks Touring, Tats, Taking “Kelfies” and More

The last year of Kelsea Ballerini’s life has been as fairly tale-esque as the inspiration behind her current single, “Peter Pan.” In the past 12 months, Kelsea has earned back-to-back No. 1 hits—”Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs”—won the ACM New Female Vocalist and ACCA Best New Artist awards, secured a coveted opening spot on Rascal Flatts’ Rhythm and Roots Tour and is set to co-host the upcoming ABC TV singing show Greatest Hits on June 30

No doubt, there is much more in store for this 22-year-old, whose debut album,The First Time, was released in May 2015. Nash Country Daily caught up with the starlet to talk about touring, tattoos and, of course, taking “Kelfies.”

Watch Maddie & Tae Honor Orlando Shooting Victims With “After The Storm Blows Through”

It’s been more than a week since the terrorist attack took place at Pulse night club in Orlando, Fla., where more than 50 people lost their lives. The city of Orlando is still reeling from the tragedy, as is the rest of the country, but the city has shown strength beyond measure as they move forward to heal.

In a benefit concert held Tuesday night (June 21) called Country Strong: Orlando’s Night of Healing and Country Music, many country stars came out to show their support. Country artists included Parmalee, Michael Ray, Cole Swindell, Billy Currington, Canaan Smith, Jerrod Niemann, Tyler Farr, Easton Corbin and Maddie and Tae. Country Stars Announce Benefit Concert for Orlando Shooting Victims

The tragic events at a nightclub in Orlando last weekend rocked the entire country, including country stars like Tyler Farr and Maddie & Tae. The artists, along with several others, have joined with radio station K92.3 to perform a benefit concert for the victims of the deadly shooting, which will take place June 21 on the University of Central Florida campus.

The all-ages event, titled Country Strong: Orlando’s Night of Healing and Country Music, will also feature Jerrod Niemann, Canaan Smith and Michael Ray. Billy Currington, Easton Corbin, Parmalee and Cole Swindell have also been added to the event, with more to be announced. Tim McGraw’s “Humble and Kind” is the No. 1 song on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week, extending his career total to 28. Since the inception of the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 1990, Tim’s 28 No. 1s lead the pack, followed by Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and George Strait, who each have 26. “Humble and Kind,” which was penned by Lori McKenna, is the second single from Tim’s 2015 album, Damn Country Music.
