I’m gonna tell you right now, Atlantic Records was overwhelmingly inspired by me and excited to work with me. I’m so excited because they want to make the album I’ve been dying to make since I was a kid— And since I’ve was on Idol. Everybody’s been asking me to make a soulful record for years. That is what Atlantic Records and I are about to do. I want to say thank you so much to RCA for the last fifteen years, seriously, we did awesome together. But I’m very, very, very excited about picking my label for the first time and that’s Atlantic Records.”

She then went on to sing a soulful version of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me,” via request from her fans, as a shout out to the people who have been supporting her since Idol.

A second announcement made by the singer was that she is setting up a website called Kellyclarksonlive.com (live now) and is giving her fans four free songs to download along with the ability to stream a version of her “Tightrope” video. Check out the site now for your free downloads.

“Instead of giving out stuff and making you pay for it I think there should be a reward for being so loyal and cool. The last Friday of every month, we are going to be giving away free stuff. I basically just want to give away stuff because we’ve done so much stuff and have so many songs recorded from tour or just us in studio and it would be cool to give you all something for free.”

Creep / Radiohead

Fix You / ColdPlay

I’d Rather Go Blind / Etta James

Kelly ends the video with a Q&A session from her fans and by toasting, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, to a new fresh start and to a 2017 solo record.  “Thank you so much to RCA. I love what Atlantic can offer me. We just are really in sync on a lot things. It’s just an exciting new start for me and it was my first time to get to pick [the label].”
